ABOUT US

About Our Tabletop Club

Nestapik is an independent offline tabletop gaming club based in Newcastle, New South Wales. We exist for one reason: to give local players a regular, welcoming place to meet around a table and enjoy great board games together.

Who We Are

We are a community-focused club, not a chain or a franchise. Our home is a single venue at 45 Hunter Street in central Newcastle, where we run our weekly program of friendly tournaments. We keep things simple, organised and local — a dependable fixture in the week for anyone who loves tabletop gaming.

What We Organise

Nestapik runs a focused, recurring weekly tournament program. Rather than an ever-changing calendar, we offer four reliable events you can plan your week around. Each one is hosted in person by our organisers, with clear instructions and a friendly, fair atmosphere.

Our Weekly Program

We host four recurring formats, each with its own style of play:

  • Every Thursday — Cascadia — spatial strategy, built around tile placement and habitat building.
  • Every Friday — Catan — resource management and negotiation, with trading and adaptation at its heart.
  • Every Saturday — Ticket to Ride — route building, rewarding planning, timing and efficient scoring.
  • Every Sunday — 7 Wonders — card drafting and city development, with multiple paths to victory.

Together they give you four genuinely different gaming experiences across the week.

A Beginner-Friendly Approach

New to these games? No problem. Our organisers explain the rules before each event begins and are happy to answer questions as you go. You do not need prior tournament experience to take part — just a willingness to learn and enjoy the game.

Competitive but Social

We like a real contest, and we also like a good time. Nestapik is competitive in spirit but social at heart. People come to test their strategy, meet other players and enjoy the evening, not to take things too seriously.

Who Can Participate

Our events are open to anyone who would like to play. All four events suit mixed experience levels, so you are welcome whether you are stepping up to your first tournament or you have played these titles many times before.

Fair Play

Our events run smoothly because everyone plays their part. We ask all participants to:

  • respect other participants
  • follow organiser instructions
  • arrive on time
  • handle game materials carefully
  • accept event rulings
  • communicate respectfully

A little courtesy keeps every table
enjoyable.

What Participants Can Expect

When you join a Nestapik event, you can expect a clear start time, a friendly organiser, a straightforward explanation of the format, and a well-run game in good company. Win or lose, we want you to leave looking forward to the next one.
